Now trading as Reeds from Seeds still at the original site of Bryn Polyn Nurseries, we try very hard to produce and supply only 1st quality plants. Our production methods are modern and progressive, our staff are motivated and trained in house to high standards. Our customers are many and varied. We pride ourselves that we supply the same customers time and time again with no complaints about our products or service.

If you have requirements for wetland and marginal plants why not give us a try? We are here to help. Please be assured of our best attention at all times. We at Reeds from Seeds look forward to quoting for your requirements.

Our main crop Phragmites australis started as a diversification of cropping. From growing ornamental plants at this nursery, trading as Bryn Polyn Nurseries, we grew bedding plants and shrubs for the Garden Centre marketplace. At the point in 1996 when we turned our attention to native wetland species, the traditional UK Garden Centre market was in a state of flux. Many smaller centres were beginning to struggle and other medium sized centres were being taken over by larger ‘chains’ or groups, to improve their sales and viability. The opportunities as a small nursery to supply these outlets was therefore reduced in the 1990’s by centralised purchasing and centralised distribution. Additionally we were not a large enough nursery to supply these larger groups their needs year round.
The following pages will guide you as to the use of reeds in reed bed systems and show a little of the way in which we grow them. At the point of despatch we package our plants in cardboard boxes with a very thin polythene liner to protect the cardboard. The plants are supplied without pots, this means that they are ready to plant upon receipt with the minimum waste to our customers. Even the cardboard box can be mulched if desired and the only item for disposal is the polythene liner (like a bin liner bag).
